Abstract
Phytosomes are phopsholipid-herbal extract complexes and are considered as a new generation of nano-delivery system ables to preserve bioactive components, improve solubility in physiological conditions, and control their release. This systems have some advantages respect to classical lyposomes and will be prepared in a sustainable way employing extracts from biomasses and phosphatidyl choline fraction obtained from soy lecithin by-products. The resulting preparations will be characterized by DLS, HPLC-UV, and they will be evaluated for in vitro hypoglycemic activity. The release kinetics from phytosomes of a given drug can be also evaluated for assessing the effectiveness of the system in gradually releasing it.
