Abstract
The external dimension of the European migration and asylum policy has de facto delegated EU borders' control to third countries. Despite the EU talk in favour of a 'human and humane approach' to address migration in the Mediterranean, EU policy tools do not pursue migrants' rights within the framework of EU-cooperation with Mediterranean southern countries. This organized hypocrisy needs to be investigated.
