Abstract
Lignocellulosic biomass has proven to be a promising resource for sustainable development towards a biobased society, being a key option for biorefineries, which are designed to process or fractionate biomass for integral valorization to maximize the outputs. To discover new lignin valorization routes, it is crucial to conduct an extensive extraction and characterization of this fraction, as lignin exhibits distinct properties depending on the lignocellulosic biomass, pretreatment, and isolation process. The primary objective of this study is to optimize the extraction of lignin from a mixture of six lignocellulosic biomasses obtained from forest and marginal lands. This will be achieved by employing natural deep eutectic solvents.
