Abstract
The incidence of skeletal class III malocclusion varies in different population areas. Clear aligners treatment (CAT) is an alternative for conventional orthodontic appliances even in children and growing subjects. Although the forces expressed by clear aligners and class III auxiliaries are certainly below the orthopaedic cut-off reached by extra-oral devices, CAT can be better tolerated by children which, in turn, can increase the adherence to the treatment leading to similar results obtained with extra-oral appliances, at least in mild to moderate class III cases. The aim of this research project is to analyze the effectiveness of interceptive treatment class III malocclusion using CAT (Invisalign First), using digital records including radiographs and intra-oral and facial scans.
