Development of lipid nanocarriers for topical drug delivery

Abstract
Solid lipid nanoparticles and-or nanostructured lipid carriers will be developed as carriers for topical delivery of pharmaceutical and cosmetic active ingredients. Lipid nanoparticles will be developed using GRAS status ingredients to load natural and-or synthetic active compounds. Technological characterization of the resulting colloidal suspensions will be performed and the optimized nanocarriers will be incorporated into suitable topical formulations whose efficacy will be evaluated both in vitro and in vivo.
