Indoor Positioning Systems based on Geomagnetism: Design and Performance Evaluation

Abstract
Indoor positioning systems (IPS) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential applications in various domains, such as healthcare, retail, and security. The most commonly used IPS technologies are based on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and visual information. However, these systems have limitations in terms of accuracy, coverage, and cost. Geomagnetic field-based IPS have emerged as a promising solution to overcome these limitations. The proposed thesis aims to design and evaluate the performance of indoor positioning systems based on geomagnetism. The outcomes of the thesis will contribute to the development of accurate, robust, and cost-effective indoor positioning systems that can be used in various domains.
