LIBS and Raman spectroscopy for archaeological applications

Abstract
We have a research line to apply LIBS and Raman spectroscopy for the characterization of archaeological remains. The proposed work can be focused on one of the following: measurement of mollusc shells to infer paleoclimatic variables and seasonality, identification of animal bone remains, identification of pigments in ornaments and cave paintings, or identification of minerals on residues. Using artificial intelligence algorithms to process spectroscopic data for this application is also considered.
