Abstract
We will explore the design of devices (lab-on-chip) with new complex structures on transparent materials for photonic characterization of bio samples. These chips can incorporate optical elements such as optical fibres, waveguides, microlenses for photonic characterization, and microfluidic components such as customized chambers for proper environmental conditions. Optical elements will be incorporated into the chip to guide the excitation light (white light, lasers of specific wavelengths) and to perform spectroscopic analysis, including absorption, fluorescence or Raman spectroscopy. Depending on the conditions of the study, these optical characterizations can provide static or dynamic information about the bio samples inside the chamber.
