Nanozyme-based hybrids to tackle with antimicrobial resistance, food safety and environment.

Research Topic
Abstract

Nanozymes, combining catalytic ability with the physical properties of nanometric materials for smart response to remote stimuli constitute a breakthrough for advanced technologies. This Ph.D. thesis deals with the development of nanoplatforms based on 2D (graphene, MoS2, …) and plasmonic (Pd, Au, Ag, Pt) nanozymes to tackle with cross-cutting issues of antimicrobial resistance, food safety and environment, specifically, nanozyme-based:
1) nanomedicine for anti-bacterial activity and wound healing.
2) nanocomposites against foodborne contamination.
3) 2D materials for tackling with e-waste.
The research activities 1) and 2) will be exploited in cooperation with the CNRS -ISm2(France), concerning antimicrobial peptides to be used to fabricate hybrid peptide-nanozyme nanocomposites.
