Syracuse Academy is a dynamic and innovative organization in the field of pre-university and university programs for international students and language training in Italy. Syracuse Academy (www.syracuseacademy.org), providing academic opportunities in Sicily for North American universities and colleges, with a particular focus on Sustainability studies and Mediterranean studies; partner institutions for semester and summer programs in Sicily include University of California, University of Minnesota and others.

The Viseu City Council is the collegiate executive body of the municipality, made up of a president and eight councillors, one of whom is designated as vice-president.

The City Council has the material and operational powers provided for in Law No. 75/2013, of 12 September, which establishes the legal regime of local authorities.

The mission of the Center Pio La Torre is to enhance the ideal and political heritage marked by the life and work of Pio La Torre, creating and promoting studies, initiatives, and original research concerning contemporary Sicily and the evolution of the mafia phenomenon. The Center pursues its aims through the realization of seminars, meetings, researches, publications, etc. The Center proposes from 2006 an anti-mafia educational project aimed at the Sicilian and national high schools, universities students, and adult students in prison.
