LWG Lausitzer Wasser GmbH & Co. KG is the leading company in Lusatia when it comes to the supply of drinking water (8 waterworks and 1080 km of drinking water network) and the disposal of wastewater (management of 9 sewage treatment plants, including the largest in the state of Brandenburg, and maintenance of approx. 820 km of sewage network). In addition, the LWG, together with its subsidiary BRAIN, is active in the renaturation of the Lusatian mining region. Lusatian mining region, in particular in the conditioning of open-cast mining pits by means of ship-based water treatment plants.
