O Museu de Lamego está instalado num emblemático palácio setecentista do centro histórico, que foi residência e sede do governo episcopal até ao advento da República.
Com um acervo verdadeiramente eclético, possui coleções de pintura, tapeçaria, mobiliário, ourivesaria, paramentaria e meios de transporte, que faziam parte do recheio do antigo palácio, complementadas, por arqueologia, fotografia, desenho e gravura e uma generosa biblioteca com cerca de 10 000 exemplares.
